Leaders in a variety of fields are working to solve environmental problems and improve economic efficiency for the society of tomorrow by clustering or dispersing urban activity into a new structure, in which vehicles are used more selectively than they are. Small motorcycles offer excellent mobility for easy short-distance transportation, ideal for the transportation needs of the new society. They will provide still greater convenience and ease of use when they are powered by electricity. It is with this idea kept in mind that the Yamaha released its new electric commuter "EC-03," a model designed and engineered with the product concept of a "Smart Minimal Commuter."
This is a "zero-emissions" vehicle with a smooth and quiet ride that also allows the rider to enjoy the lightness and slim design not found in conventional 50cc scooters. This new model features plug-in recharging from a 100V household electrical outlet and excellent ease of maneuvering thanks to its lightweight aluminum alloy frame and other features to ensure the high level of functionality and convenience as a "smart, minimal commuter" vehicle.
Due to exclusive technologies, such as the electronic control technology garnered from Yamaha Motor's PAS electrically power-assisted bicycle development, this model offers a level of quietness and smoothness to the ride that only an electric vehicle can provide. As a result, they have been put to use in a growing range of areas besides short-range urban commuting, including use as rental vehicles in tourist areas and fleet vehicles in resorts. For Yamaha, this model is a manifestation of our efforts to develop new forms of "Smart Power" as defined in our current medium term management plan.

The super-slim power unit YIPU (Yamaha Integrated Power Unit) is adopted on this model. Combined with the aluminum-alloy frame, it gives to the machine lightweight that improves the maneuvering and feeling of comfort. The slim chassis and design contribute to provide an aesthetic lightness as well.
In sport bikes market, there is a trend of customers seeking greater enjoyment in everyday use. Contrary to the conventional values favouring bikes that are "bigger" and "faster," there is a new appreciation of models with sporty performance that fit one's own age and physique. To answer this trend, the MT-09 was developed with Yamaha's exclusive "Jinki Kanno" * design philosophy to bring together the "fun of riding," the "sound and pulse" and "design" that make up the fundamental and universal appeal of motorcycles.
The result of this project was greatly appreciated. The MT-09 received no less than two prizes; the iF Product Design Award 2014 in the product design division as well as the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014. Both of them are widely recognized as some of the most prestigious design awards in the world.

The engine has been developed based on Yamaha's "Crossplane Concept" that seeks "linear torque development in response to the rider's throttle action". It is an 847cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, in-line 3-cylinder, DOHC, 4-valve engine with a downdraft intake. The model adopts a lightweight aluminum frame with excellent rigidity balance and a look that created this distinctive exterior design which has been rewarded. Besides all this, the body has a hybrid design that mixes the elements in a naked (roadster) bike and a motard bike. The design synchronizes various elements that include a "mass forward" machine silhouette that expresses the image of a machine with light handling that can be ridden freely, a concentrated central core of the machine created by mass centralization expressing the agility to move in any direction swiftly, and aspects to create a motard and off-road machine image.
Urban centers around the world face chronic traffic congestion and a lack of parking spaces. In light of these problems, people have long depended on scooters and small motorcycles for personal mobility. It led to more and more calls for new types of commuter vehicles that would be easy to ride, even for people with no riding experience. This is what conveyed Yamaha to release the Tricity commuter vehicle as its first model featuring its Leaning Multi-Wheel (LMW) design.
The two front wheels that allow to lean in unison with the chassis when cornering are the biggest feature of the Tricity. They not only provide a new kind of fun, light and sporty handling with a good feeling of stability, but also an appearance that helps give the bike a look of stability and ease of use. In addition, the fuel tank was placed as close as possible to the model’s center of gravity.
This ensures that changes in fuel level cause almost no change in its center of gravity, increasing handling characteristics. Thus, the Tricity honored the “Yamaha Handling” tradition by creating a new category in the commuter vehicle market.

The Tricity adopts an liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, SOHC, 2-valve engine. It features both Yamaha's YMJET-FI fuel injection system and continuously variable transmission (CVT), that bring out the model's smooth, agile performance in the mid- to high-speed ranges.
The European market for 1,000cc supersport models has grown considerably, led by users who are passionate about riding their machines on racing circuits. The YZF-R1M, the high-end counterpart of the 2015 YZF-R1, allows riders to experience firsthand the technical philosophy behind Yamaha’s MotoGP racing machine, the YZR-M1. Along with an impressive 200PS, this YZF-R1M was one of the world’s first two commercial motorcycles (besides the YZF-R1) with a 6-axis position sensor that detects 3-axis angular velocity and 3-axis acceleration.
Coupled with advanced control technology, Yamaha’s sophisticated sensor provides high-dimension handling and performance, allowing the rider to devote more attention to pure riding. Incorporating hot features from the YZR-M1 MotoGP machine, the design is an entirely new R-DNA based on Yamaha’s “Speed Racer” concept, which combines a small silhouette, rider-machine unity and headlight-less front face.
The high-end YZF-R1M features lightweight cast aluminum wheels, an Öhlins electronically controlled suspension and ERS (Electric Racing Suspension), lightweight carbon fairing and is standard equipped with a CCU (Communication Control Unit) - a digital interface that records valuable racing information.

The YZF-R1M boasts a 1,000cc liquid-cooled in-line 4-cylinder high-output engine with crossplane crankshaft. Its frame is an aluminum Deltabox with a magnesium rear frame and uses a long head pipe. The engine is mounted with a high degree of rigidity, and results in a well-balanced chassis that delivers a ride with responsive handling and great stability.
Yamaha developed the "Helm Master" control system for outboard engine powered boats. The Helm Master® is a control system designed for use on mid- to large-sized boats with twin or triple mounts of Yamaha's large-class 4-stroke outboards (225-425 hp).
The system provides electronic control of all the steering, gear shifting, and throttle functions, etc. Complementing the standard steering and remote control unit, there is a joystick that enables 360-degree control and turning of the boat at low speeds and makes for much easier maneuvering, particularly in narrow areas like during docking/undocking and navigating tight waterways and marinas.
The Helm Master® supplements the inherent advantages of an outboard rig, including its great economy, environmental friendliness, ease of maintenance, and space efficiency, by adding functions that make even a large boat easier and more enjoyable to maneuver, even for beginners. The Helm Master® system includes joystick control, remote control box, electronic key switch, and CLP multi-display.
When the Grizzly 700 evolved more and more to a leisure focused 4x4 ATV the market demand raised for a pure utility big bore ATV. The answer was the Kodiak 700 which has been recognized by farmers, foresters and industrial users as being one of the toughest and best value for money utility ATVs on the market. The comfy, low down seating position makes it easy to get on and off the Kodiak. The low rpm torquey clutch setting underlines the utility usage. The slightly narrower wheel-stance compared to the Grizzly 700 makes it easier to handle on tight trail and increased maneuverability. The ROV (Recreational Off-highway Vehicles) market has been growing in recent years. In response to customers’ request, Yamaha launched a core product in the Recreational Vehicle business, the fourth model in its ROV line-up was launched: the YXZ1000R, a 2-person pure sport model.
Designed to deliver sports driving in a variety of environments, the YXZ1000R pure sports model, therefore, rounds out a product line-up that meets a wide variety of customer demands, from practical field applications to recreation and sports. In particular the sport usage of the YXZ1000R has become extremely popular in Off Road and Cross Country competition all over Europe, from enthusiast hobby racers to various European Championships.
The main features of the YXZ1000R are a DOHC 12-valve 998cc liquid-cooled 3-cylinder engine and an industry first sequential manual five-speed transmission, newly-developed front and rear suspensions that contribute to travel right across a variety of terrain, special 27-inch tires and 14-inch aluminum wheels delivering superior ride comfort and controllability, an electric power steering (EPS) that assists steering operation under harsh environments. And besides all that a design that achieves an overwhelming sense of presence and power. These features lead the rider to experience exciting driving performances.

The YXZ1000R mounts a 998 cm3 liquid-cooled 3-cylinder engine in a stable and agile chassis with all around protection.
It is not often that an outboard is introduced as far ahead in its class, but the Yamaha F25G – targeted at 4-5m boat customers, using it for recreational and/or commercial purposes – is one such outboard at its introduction in 2017. To ensure that this sporty and high-performance outboard engine was easy to transport, all the technical knowledge and design skills that Yamaha is known for have been addressed. The amazing result was a weight saving of around 25% compared to the earlier model and an unprecedented power-to-weight ratio that no other engine in its class can match at that time. But the incredibly low weight was not the only technologically advanced feature of the F25G. The new battery-free electronic fuel injection system (EFI) ensured easy starting even in the toughest conditions, you can choose from the options electric, manual or electric / manual start.
These electric starting models are fully compatible with Yamaha's advanced digital network system. This system has clear and stylish gauges that give the user comprehensive information on engine and performance data and provide a more precise and relaxed sense of control.

The F25G’s engine is a 2 cylinder 4 stroke 4vqlves SOHC engine, with a cylinder capacity of 432cc.
A year after the introduction of the YXZ1000R, Yamaha also launched the YXZ1000R SS (Sport Shift) model. This model featured a racing-style paddle shift system that offered even quicker acceleration and a higher level of controllability in extreme situations. Besides the features inherited from the YXZ1000R, this high specification supersport Side-by-Side model brought computer-controlled racing car technology to the ROV (Recreational Off-highway Vehicles) market for the first time.
The YXZ1000R SS uses a highly efficient clutchless paddle shift system that enables the driver to shift seamlessly through the sequential 5-speed transmission - even on full throttle if desired. By utilizing the sophisticated Yamaha Chip Controlled Shift system (YCC-S), this class-leading Sport Shift system makes shifting through the 5-speed gearbox easier than any other manual design. This type of racing-bred high-tech electronic system was originally developed for Yamaha's top of the range Sport Touring motorcycles. And, because no foot clutch operation is required, the mental and physical workload on the YXZ1000R SS driver is reduced substantially.

Outboard engines offer the advantages in terms of speed performance, fuel economy, easier maintenance, and liberating boat interior space. Building on this market trend, the F425A was developed as propulsion for large offshore boats which provide safe and enjoyable fishing and cruising by quickly reaching waters further offshore.
As well as delivering the reliability and durability for which Yamaha has a well-established reputation, the F425A features a wide range of new technology. The F425A features the first application in a 4-stroke outboard engine of direct injection technology, which sprays fuel at high pressure and high precision directly into each combustion chamber, rather than the intake track. This technology increases combustion efficiency, delivering unrivaled power and torque and providing boats with the ultimate in acceleration and top-speed performance. The combination of the ingenious new exhaust-gas relief system and specially-developed propellers provide excellent torque not only in regular travel, but also in reverse thrust. Also, the F425A is the industry’s first outboard engine with a compete build-in electric steering system. It has no hydraulic lines or linkages, so responds more quickly and smoothly than conventional systems.

The introduction of the 2018 Kodiak 450 model range was another evolutionary step in the long range of successful Kodiak models. The first mid-size Kodiak 400 models were introduced as far back as the early nineties. The compact 850 cc parallel twin delivers a long stroke and 270 degree crankshaft, giving the four-stroke an irregular ignition interval. These features contribute to the powerful and linear torque at low revs, making the Wolverine X4 extremely suitable on rough terrain. The engine is positioned low and centrally in the robust chassis for weight distribution being ideal.
What makes the Sidewinder series iconic is the Turbo charged Yamaha Genesis 3 cylinder engine. Base target is to compensate the 1% power loss on every 100m elevation for normal aspirated motor. This to give riders the same power when riding in the mountains as on sea level trails. The Sidewinder engine is a marble of Yamaha engineering , full of racing technology, like oil cooled forged slipper pistons and the ceramic coated cylinders.
