Name: Marcus Walz
Hockenheim, Germany

Known for his aggressively styled machines with lowered suspension and radical lines, Marcus Walz set up Walz Hardcore Cycles in 1993 next to the legendary Hockenheimring German GP circuit. After starting out creating V-twin custom specials, Walz soon discovered his own unique concept of motorcycle, which he dubbed ‘Drag Style’ due to their long and low features.

One of the few non-American customizers to compete in international custom bike shows, Walz soon won an army of fans and his creations have featured on the front covers of over 60 magazines from all over the world. Such is his popularity, when F1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel wanted a bespoke chopper to celebrate his first world title, Marcus Walz got the call.

Despite a reputation for building custom cruisers, Walz isn’t afraid to bush boundaries as his Hyper Modified TMAX demonstrated last year. Seldom quiet, always looking to create an impression, one word sums up Marcus Walz – hardcore.

After bowing out of Moto Cross in 1992, following a serious accident, Marcus invested the proceeds from the sale of his machine into a set of tools and a bike-lift. He set up a workshop in a converted barn and established Walz Hardcore Cycles.

Better known for creating hardcore cruisers, the chance to break new ground and Hyper Modify a maxi-scooter proved too tempting for Walz to resist.
