This privacy statement applies to our processing of your personal data as our (potential) customer, user, (racing) participant or visitor in relation to all your interactions with our websites, apps, events, competitions, service, sales and dealer contacts, customer information and support, quality assurance, and all other activities or topics included in the overview below. The personal data we collect and process of you depends on your choices and interactions with us or our partners (for example: authorized dealers, distributors, travel agencies, insurers), such as when you create a My Yamaha account. Accordingly, depending on your situation, we will process your personal data in relation to the activities and topics below.

3: Who is responsible for the processing of your personal data?
We strive to create exceptional value and deep satisfaction surpassing customer expectations. This includes that we take our responsibility as data controller to protect your personal data very seriously. Yamaha Motor Europe N.V. (YME) is the regional headquarter of the Yamaha Motor group in Europe, with its branch offices and group companies located in the European marketplace. It is responsible for coordinating the marketing, services, and sales activities of Yamaha Motor products in the European marketplace, including Yamaha motorcycles and scooters, marine outboard engines, Wave runner water vehicles, 4-wheel All-Terrain Vehicles (ATVs), golf cars, snowmobiles and generators, and the provision of services such as via our apps or My Yamaha.
YME's relationship with its group companies within the Yamaha Motor group
As the regional headquarter, YME is the data controller for the processing of your personal data by, under the responsibility or on behalf of YME, including its branch offices and subsidiaries in the European Economic Area. As a global company, we have group companies in different countries, including our parent company Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. in Japan. These YME-subsidiaries and other group companies sometimes process your personal data and are responsible for the processing of your personal data together with YME, depending of these group companies' activities and responsibilities and also the country you are residing in. Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. In Japan will for example also be responsible for quality assurance and product development purposes. In those situations, YME will remain the data controller, together with the relevant Yamaha Motor group company, and will be responsible for how your personal data are processed, how you are informed thereof, and ensuring your rights as a data subject. Depending on your choices and activities, we will receive from, or share, certain personal data with our dealers, distributors, and other third parties acting also as joint data controllers responsible for the processing of your personal data. This will take place to provide you a specific product or service you requested from us, our distributors, or dealers, or allow you to participate in one of our events or competitions. Depending on your choices and activities, such parties usually include authorized dealers, distributors, telecom and anti-theft monitoring providers, insurers, tour operators, event organizers, and social media providers. In addition to us, these parties are also responsible for the processing of your personal data.
