After working somewhere with lovely people around me I looked for a job that suited me more. So why choose  Yamaha?

As a child I always had the need to be outdoors. If I wasn’t riding my bicycle, I rode my Yamaha PW50. If I wasn’t driving my go-kart around the neighbourhood, I was driving my small boat which I found sunken at a little lake nearby.

This boat I’m writing about meant a lot to me. My father repaired it and the first year, at the  age of 11 , I paddled it everywhere. For my 12^th birthday, instead of presents, I asked everyone some money so I could buy a Yamaha outboard – a Yamaha 5BS. And so, at a young age I met the products from Yamaha. A few years later, at the age of 22, I bought my first motorcycle. Yes, indeed a Yamaha…

Back to the beginning of my journey at Yamaha Motor Europe, Branch Benelux (YMBNL).

I joined the Yamaha family in July 2021 after an application procedure which probably isn’t very common. I took the initiative and send an open application with a clear description of the job that I wanted…. and guess what ….. at the same time they were looking for an applicant for the job that I described in my letter. So now this is my real job at Yamaha!

As a Marine & Power Product Technical Sales Coordinator, I help and advice our dealers and boatbuilders about the Yamaha Helm Master EX systems and other rigging parts. I’m also doing market studies to expand our network with boatbuilders in the Benelux.

When someone asks me what my day looks like, I have no clear answer. Every day is different. Yes, a lot of days I am working behind my desk making quotations. But, I am also on the road a lot of days visiting our dealers. Or  even on the water - to give our dealers and boatbuilders a sales training about the Helm Master EX system. Now and then, you can even find me in the workshop as I have to keep my knowledge about our products up-to-date, also in a technical way.

As I said before, I like to be on the water, but because of my job, I’ve now got a different perspective  than the one I had before. Boating has changed for me - in a good way. I enjoy being on waverunners, but I also love experiencing engines I haven’t experienced before.  Of course, there is also challenges - sometimes I find it more challenging to do the sales side of my job and I keep learning new things every day about this aspect. Luckily, I have a lot of experienced colleagues who help me a lot with this. Speaking about my colleagues, they are really a sort of family as the mentality at Yamaha Benelux ensures that we help each other when needed. That’s really one of the main factors why I would recommend to work for Yamaha. .

Do I want to do something else in the near future? Absolutely not! I really like my job at YMBNL. The colleagues are nice and I really like and fully support our products!
