Before I joined Yamaha Motor Europe I was afraid to not end up facing the “intern at a big company” stigma of doing mundane or less-relevant activities. Being in the last year of my Bachelor and this being my first internship, my goal was to learn, gain work experience and to ultimately discover my professional self. However, in less than 6 months, I have obtained even more than what I had set out for. I gained great insight into Marketing & Communication by being involved in numerous exciting projects, created real connections with colleagues, felt valued and empowered, and, in essence, I have grown as a person, as well as a professional. During a normal day as a Corporate Communication Intern you heavily make use of interpersonal, creative and organizational skills in order to create content in cooperation with the Social Media team, prepare press releases and see that all ongoing corporate projects across Europe are following the right course. The other days are filled with adrenaline and, in the end, filled with the pleasure of having successfully completed a project (which might as well have been your idea). Despite my limited time at Yamaha Motor Europe, I truly feel part of the Yamaha family.
