    World GP 60th Anniversary livery

The iconic red "speed block" graphics featured on Yamaha’s early GP bikes are among the most famous and best-loved designs of all time. Pure-white bodywork with a thick red stripe running along the top of the tank and tail captures the spirit of the pioneering factory racers – and the gold-coloured wheels and yellow front number plate come straight from the racetrack.

    High-torque 689cc CP2 engine

Delivering 73.4 PS @ 8.750 rpm, the 689cc CP2 engine of the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary offers thrilling acceleration and instant throttle response. Its 270-degree crank gives an uneven firing interval that ensures a lively and exciting feel as the revs rise – and its linear torque output enables you to lay down the power efficiently for faster corner exits.

    Athletic design with R-Series DNA

A key factor in achieving optimum performance is by having the smallest frontal area possible – and thanks to the compact dimensions of the CP2 engine, Yamaha’s designers have been able to develop an athletic bodywork that is slimmer than any other R-Series model. And with its sporty tucked-in riding position, the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary slices through air smoothly and efficiently.

    Aerodynamic cowling and twin-eye face

You don’t need to see the Yamaha logo to know that this stunning new Supersport is part of the legendary R-Series family. The lightweight full fairing with aluminium lower panels has been shaped by pure R-Series DNA and features an aggressive twin-eye face with its M-shaped air duct and a powerful central LED headlight.

    A&S clutch for increased controllability

The R7 World GP 60th Anniversary is the first CP2-engined Yamaha to be equipped with an Assist & Slipper (A&S) clutch that delivers smoother gear shifting and prevents engine over-rev and rear wheel hop during hard braking, resulting in more predictable and controllable handling when approaching corners. And the A&S clutch also offers a much lighter feel at the lever.

  • alt

Lightweight frame tuned for idealised chassis rigidity

With a wet weight of only 188 kg, the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary features a compact frame that makes it the slimmest bike in the R-Series family. Its balance of rigidity has been fine-tuned with an aluminium centre brace as well as by using tubing with varying tensile strengths – and these key features contribute towards the bike’s outstandingly agile and responsive handling characteristics.

Fully-adjustable inverted 41 mm front forks

The KYB 41 mm inverted front forks give a planted and confident feeling on racetracks and twisty roads. Featuring full adjustability for preload as well as rebound and compression damping – and equipped with a gravity cast upper triple clamp and forged aluminium lower triple clamp – this high-specification front end gives excellent controllability and precision.

  • alt

    Adjustable link-type rear shock

The newly designed link-type rear suspension system features an adjustable shock absorber equipped with damping characteristics and a spring rate designed to suit the sporty character of the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary. The horizontal layout of the shock helps to centralise mass and achieve high levels of handling agility, and its compact design keeps chassis dimensions to a minimum.

    Radial-mount front brake calipers

To underline the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary’s pure R-Series DNA this accessible Supersport is equipped with high-specification radial-mount 4-pot front brake calipers. This race-developed design produces linear pressure to the dual 298 mm front discs – and together with the Brembo radial master cylinder, this premium setup gives you strong braking power with a high degree of controllability.

Sports, tucked-in riding position gives optimum agility

Your body position plays a key role in the bike’s aerodynamics and handling characteristics, and the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary’s clip-on handlebars along with rearset footrests and a solo-style bump-stop seat achieve a sporty riding position for track and road use. Deep tank cover indents enable you to tuck-in very close to the bike for reduced drag and give extra support and grip during braking and cornering.

  • alt

    Lightweight 10-spoke wheels

For easy manoeuvrability together with agile handling and responsive suspension action the R7 World GP 60th Anniversary is equipped with lightweight 10-spoke cast alloy wheels. A high level of traction is provided by a 120/70ZR17 front tyre and a wide 180/55ZR17 rear tyre that deliver stable and confident road-holding when cornering, accelerating and braking.

Optional Quick Shift System for seamless upshift

One of the most effective ways to upgrade your R7 World GP 60th Anniversary for even faster acceleration is by specifying the optional Quick Shift System when you order the bike from your Yamaha dealer. By momentarily cutting power to the gearbox when you shift up, the QSS allows seamless full throttle upshifts for increased performance on the road and track.
