Smoother enduro clutch and wide-ratio 6-speed transmission
The WR250F's transmission is equipped with a clutch that has been specially developed to handle hour after hour of punishment. A newly designed push lever gives even smoother clutch action - and to optimise the stronger performance of the upgraded engine, there's a purpose-built wide ratio 6-speed transmission.
Optimised suspension settings
The enduro-specific suspension runs with optimised settings for enhanced control. The KYB® 48-mm upside down AOS front forks give speed-sensitive damping for class-leading performance on varied terrain. And at the rear end this high-tech 250cc 4-stroke runs with a link-type Monocross rear suspension system and KYB® shock for ultimate traction.
Switch-free electric starter
For easy and reliable starting every time, this next generation enduro bike is equipped with a switch-free ignition system that enables you to fire the engine up with one push of the electric start button. And to reduce the WR250F's overall weight, the kickstart mechanism has been removed.
Yamaha Power Tuner
The Yamaha Power Tuner allows you to adjust the WR250F's performance character to suit different riding conditions. This plug-in accessory gives you a wide range of engine tuning options that enable you to select your own custom settings from the newly developed 3D mapping. With the Power Tuner you now have factory tuning technology at your fingertips!
The mass centralised design is a concept we pioneered and it's what gives the WR250F the edge over the competition. By locating major components like the fuel tank, cylinder and exhaust system close to the centre of the chassis, we've been able to create an agile handling enduro bike, giving Yamaha riders a real advantage - all day long.
Compact new YZ250F-type aluminium chassis
To optimise the performance gains of the upgraded engine, the WR250F comes with a new lightweight YZ250F-based bilateral aluminum beam frame. Its compact design offers an idealised balance of strength and rigidity, giving you the confidence and ability to take full control over all types of extreme terrain, at high and low speeds.
Revolutionary 250cc 4-stroke engine
Equipped with 4 titanium valves, the revolutionary rear slanted liquid cooled 250cc fuel-injected DOHC 4-stroke engine gets a remapped ECU giving optimised power and an improved rev limiter. For balanced power output with boosted reliability, the bottom end features a revised crank balance ratio and a nickel-chomoly steel con rod.
