Yamaha’s Yard Built family returned to Germany in early September 2016 for the annual Glemseck 101 custom motorcycle show. An incredible 80,000+ motorcycle lovers celebrating everything custom and hand built, infused with the exciting action of 1/8th mile racing to a soundtrack of live music.
Yard Built was of course there in style for the second year running. Italian builder Moto di Ferro’s XV950 ‘Speed Iron’, Danish Yard Built regulars The Wrenchmonkees’ latest build, the XSR900 Monkeebeast and Portuguese builders it roCkS!bikes’ stunning take on the VMAX, the ‘CS_07 Gasoline’ making stand-out attractions for the crowd.
Glemseck was also the first chance for the custom bike loving public to see the winners of Yamaha’s second annual DealerBuilt contest in the flesh. The mono/P2 class winner Eduardo Castro Motos from Spain where their with the Faster Sons inspired XSR700 ‘By Design E.Castro’, joined by the monster ‘Noah’ VMAX creation by Poland’s POLand Position, winner of the V2/V4 class. The P4 winner, Jigsaw Custom Motorcycles of Greece completed the line up with the stunning, retro race inspired ‘The Missing Piece’, built on the Yamaha XJR1300.
It wasn't just show and shine though as Moto di Ferro’s Marco Lugato proved the XV950 ‘Speed Iron’ had the moves to match the looks, holding his own and giving the competition a run for their money in the famous Glemseck 1/8mile sprint races.
