Moving You - Episode 3

The spirit of "One-to-One Service" is about creating and strengthening bonds with each and every customer. It is the guideline and mindset shared by all Yamaha motorcycle mechanics around the world. Having been crowned world champion and returning to his home country of Vietnam in triumph, this man was also an embodiment of "One-to-One Service."

Yamaha motorcycle mechanics around the world are entrusted with performing technical services like inspections and maintenance on the treasured machines of the customers to ensure that they can ride them with the utmost assurance. Taking the "One-to-One Service" ideal to heart, each and every mechanic seeks to build and strengthen the customer relationship through high levels of technical skills, quality customer service, and easy-to-understand explanations.

The Yamaha Technical Academy (YTA) is a unified, global training and education program designed to make sure customers will receive the same high level of "Yamaha Service" anywhere in the world. Every Yamaha mechanic, regardless of nationality or place of residence, has an equal opportunity to take advantage of this program and the high standards that accompany it. Today, there are some 30,000 YTA-certified mechanics working in their respective countries around the globe.

The "Yamaha World Technician Grand Prix" is the global contest held to recognize the best of these YTA-certified mechanics. For its 5th holding in 2012, the contest brought together 28 of the best mechanics from 20 countries that qualified by winning national and regional competitions to compete against each other through their knowledge, technical skills, and customer service skills for the title of "World's No. 1 Yamaha Mechanic." When the contest was over, the champions were Mr. Thorsten Brand of Germany in the Sport Model Class and Mr. Le Truong Qui Tu of Vietnam in the Commuter/Business Model Class.

The knowledge and technical skills of Yamaha's mechanics are honed every day to help their customers use and enjoy their Yamaha product safely and correctly. "Ride safely!" they say as they send off another customer. The smile that comes in return is one of the greatest joys and points of pride for these service technicians.
