2022 Yamaha Off Road Competition Range

New 2022 Yamaha Off Road Competition Range

Nearly 50 years after Yamaha won the first of its many World Motocross Championships, Yamaha riders keep demonstrating their bikes’ race-winning performances, already claiming numerous podiums during this 2021 season in MXGP, MX2 and across the ocean in AMA 450 and 250 Motocross classes. And Monster Energy Star Yamaha Racing riders dominated both the 2021 250 SX East and West Championships aboard of their YZ250F machines.

For 2022 Yamaha shows its total and enduring commitment to every category in Motocross with the launch of an all-new lighter and more powerful YZ125, along with major upgrades for the YZ250 and YZ85 models.

All-new YZ125: 2-stroke evolution

Featuring an all-new higher performance 125cc 2-stroke engine as well as sharper, more compact bodywork, improved ergonomics, higher performance brakes and refined KYB suspension, the YZ125 is the ultimate choice for tomorrow’s professional rider.

Equipped with a new Keihin powerjet carburettor and a redesigned YPVS for stronger mid to high rpm power with improved useability, this lightweight and compact unit is the most competitive 125cc motocross engine ever built by Yamaha. A flatter seat and slimmer bodywork enhance rider mobility – and an all-new high efficiency air intake contributes towards the new bike’s holeshot-winning acceleration.

This new YZ125 will be available in two colour choices: Icon Blue duo-tone bodywork with new in-mould graphics – and for riders who want the factory look, there’s an all-new YZ125 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition for 2022.

New YZ250: 2 Strokes. First place.

For 2022 the evolution of this highly successful motocross bike continues, and the new YZ250 comes with all-new super slim bodywork that sharpens up its profile to make it one of the most dynamic looking bikes on the track. The enhanced chassis specification includes more powerful braking, revised suspension, new lightweight components and a high-efficiency intake system. Available in two versions: Icon Blue duo-tone bodywork with new in-mould graphics; and an all-new YZ250 Monster Energy Yamaha Racing Edition.

YZ85: Victory. Never given, always earned.

Featuring much of the same advanced engine and chassis technology as the YZ125 and YZ250, the new 2022 YZ85 is the very best start that any young racer can get. Major upgrades include slim new bodywork with uniform left/right radiator shrouds that reinforce the strong YZ family heritage – as well a new tank, seat and sidepanels – and a lightweight aluminium rear frame and new swingarm. The YZ85 is available in new Icon Blue duo-tone colours with in-mould graphics.

YZ450F & YZ250F: Proven MXGP and MX2 race winners

The winning YZ450F and YZ250F continue into 2022 with a range of technical changes designed to optimise their proven winning potential. Both models are lighter and feature revised suspension settings as well as a new rear sprocket with a gold-coloured chain, and DID wheel rims are fitted. The YZ250F rear wheel features a wider 2.15 rim and a 110/90 tyre, as well as a lighter hub and revised spoke pattern.

The YZ65 2-stroke as well as the TT-R125, TT-R110 and TT-R50 4-strokes come in  new Icon Blue bodywork and new graphics for 2022. Also the incredibly popular PW50 2-stroke features the latest Icon Blue bodywork, and can be adapted for the very youngest riders with the Little Champ Pack which includes training wheels, a racing design seat cover and sticker kits.
