Philosophy
Faster Sons
The Faster Sons philosophy is built upon the desire of every next generation to be better and faster than their predecessors. It is what binds us and motivates us to keep improving. The search to best your predecessors can be done in many ways, from creating incredible aesthetics to chasing actual speed. The Faster Sons philosophy pays homage to Yamaha’s rich heritage while being focused on performance of the future. The homage becomes alive through livery and actual motorcycle design. From the XT500 inspired XSR700 XTribute to the ‘80s inspired XSR900 the most memorable lines and designs are brought back accompanied with modern performance.
The philosophy leaves ample of room in the modern motorcycles for the owner to customize and make their own, either with the help of Yamaha or with the inspiration of the many Yard Built motorcycles. Since Shinya Kimura created the first real Faster Sons concept motorcycle that embodied our belief in blending retro styling with new age technology many great bikes have followed.
In that sense the philosophy is much more than just an idea – it’s almost an owners club for those who all share a love for the retro lifestyle. Whether you own a RD350 that has gone to the moon and back or own the modern performing XSR900. There is a strong common ground that binds all and that is the recognition of the importance of heritage and the preservation of these everlasting ideas and designs.
