The Giro d'Italia is an annual multiple-stage like bicycle race primarily held in Italy, while also starting in, or passing through, other countries. The first race was organized in 1909 and has been held annually with the only exceptions being the two World Wars. Along with the Tour de France and La Vuelta, the Giro is one of cycling's prestigious three-week-long Grand Tours. Its signature color is pink as it was first organized to support the visibility and sales of the famous Italian sports journal Gazzetta dello Sport, which pages are pink. Organized by RCS, the race has a long history of collaboration with Yamaha starting from 2009 - a collaboration that has involved key Yamaha models like TMAX, Tricity and Niken
Besides the Giro D’Italia the organizer (R.C.S.) is responsible for a long list of Cycling Races that are also supported by the NIKEN fleet provided by Yamaha Motor Europe. Amongst these races are a great number of classics like;
Strade Bianche
Il Lombardia
