Q2: Where is the serial number for my Yamaha WaveRunner?

There are three serial numbers on a Yamaha WaveRunner - a HIN number, an Engine and a Primary ID number. It is the latter that we use for genral identification purposes and is stamped on a label attached inside the engine compartment.

All Yamaha WaveRunners are designed to operate on regular unleaded petrol.

Q4: How do I get a Declaration of Conformity for my Yamaha WaveRunner?

There is an E.C. Declaration of Conformity for a Yamaha WaveRunner, inside the front cover of the Owner’s/Operator’s Manual with all new craft.

Q5: What is the warranty period for Yamaha WaveRunners?

2005 models: For private/domestice use Yamaha WaveRunners come with a two year warranty. For craft used on a commercial, business or hire basis the period is 6 months.

Pre 2005 models: For private/domestic use Yamaha WaveRunners come with a one year warranty. For craft used on a commercial, business or hire basis the period is three months.

Q6: Do I have to take my Yamaha product back to the selling dealer for warranty repairs?

No - although perhaps advisable, any authorised Yamaha dealer for that particular model, is able to carry out warranty repairs.

Q7: Is it possible to extend the factory supplied warranty on a Yamaha product?

The duration of the warranty is fixed and we regret that no extension is currently available.

Q8: How do I make a warranty claim?

If you experience a problem with your Yamaha WaveRunner which you believe should be dealt with under the terms of the manufacturer’s warranty, please promptly contact your Yamaha dealer to arrange for the WaveRunner to be inspected and any claim assessed. All claims under warranty must be submitted on your behalf through an authorised Yamaha dealer. We regret that we are unable to accept warranty claims directly from owners.

The current service intervals are as follows:
First Service - 10 hours
Then
- initial 50 hours or 6 months (whichever is soonest)
